Well, it's Lent. It's a time to grow close to God and await the Resurrection of Christ. Here are some thoughts that can not only help with lent, but with life.
1- Stop complaining. That's something I personally struggle A LOT with. God wants us to be happy, but He can't force us to be. It's what we make of life that determines how happy we are going to be.
2- Stop judging. There are going to be people you don't like. That's a fact of this life. But every person here is here FOR A REASON and is made in the image and likeness of God. Strive to see Christ in everyone. It's not easy-it's definitely not easy. I know there are people that just rub you the wrong way. But it is not our place to judge. It's God's call.
3- Love more. There can never be too much Love in this world. In the midst of war, suffering, trials, etc., it's often hard to think about loving God and loving others. In life, however, Love is one of the most important things. So Don't Give Up On Love.
4- Be patient. Patience is a virtue. It's one of the hardest virtues to keep with you. There are so many things that can aggravate you, people to annoy you to no end, people who simply won't shut up. These are the hardest to love and be patient with. God wants us to try our hardest. We mustn't disappoint him.
5- Pray harder/more than you have lately. Lent is the perfect time to raise the trust you have in God and in yourself. With God's help, we can learn to love everything about ourselves. It's hard. But we have to strengthen our wills and our faith in this season while we wait for our Savior to conquer death.
God bless and empower you this Lenten Season!
